When you come for your initial interview, we will prepare all the required documents and have you execute them in the presence of a Notary Public. At this time you must pay $150.00 if you have not children and no property, $200.00 for all other cases (Cash, Visa/MasterCard, American Express, Money Order). You will then be given those documents that your spouse must sign, also in the presence of a Notary Public if you wish to deliver them to your spouse yourself. In the alternative, if you desire, your spouse may come to our office to execute the documents in the presence of our Notary Public. (There is no additional charge for this service) or we can mail them to your spouse. Once you spouse has executed the documents, you will need to return them to our office with a payment of $364.00 in the form of a "MONEY ORDER" payable to "Clerk of Courts" to cover the filing fees. The balance of you fees, if any, must be paid no later than seven (7) days before your final hearing. You will receive a Notice of Hearing by mail informing you of the address of the courthouse, the room number, and the time and date of your final hearing. Included in the notice you will find a reminder of any outstanding fees that must be paid and the deadline to make the required payment, and a list of the question that you will be asked in court and the answer to those questions (You will be assigned an interpreter should you need one).
